I finally got out to lane swim, tonight, and it went reasonably well. Thank you to my sister the rock-star who stayed with my kids, and got them into bed long before I got home, tonight. (If you ever want to move to Edmonton, sis….)
I did a few lengths with the tempo trainer, and then a few lengths with half swing-switch/interrupted breathing drill and half full stroke front crawl. And didn’t glare resentfully at my buoyant husband even once. Really!
The win: By length three swimming took zero effort and I had no problem finding air when I turned to breathe.
The losses: 1) I pinched a nerve during my vinyasa set on Sunday so swimming hurts in a stinging, burning not-muscle-fatigue sort of way. 2) I filled my sinuses with water doing breathing drills – the exact opposite of the desired outcome. 3) I need to swim much longer to feel like I’m getting a workout.
I’ll take it =D
